Sabeco has a new general director from Singapore

Mr. Tan Teck Chuan Lester has held the position of General Director of Sabeco since October 1, replacing his predecessor, Mr. Neo Gim Siong Bennett.

On October 6, Saigon Beer Alcohol and Beverage Joint Stock Corporation (Sabeco - stock code: SAB) officially announced that Mr. Lester Tan Teck Chuan will hold the position of General Director of Sabeco, effective from October 1.

Mr. Lester Tan will take on the responsibility of planning development strategies for all business activities and sustainable development of Sabeco, while strengthening the company's core strengths.

Previously, the Sabeco Board of Directors dismissed Mr. Neo Gim Siong Bennett from the general director position effective October 1. Mr. Bennett has held this position since July 2018.

Thus, new General Director Lester Tan will replace Mr. Neo Gim Siong Bennett after his predecessor finished his 5-year term working in Vietnam.

Mr. Lester Tan Teck Chuan has held the position of General Director of Sabeco since October 1.

Mr. Tan Teck Chuan Lester has Singaporean citizenship, graduated with a bachelor's degree from Willamette University and a master's degree from New York University (USA). He has more than 25 years of experience in the beer brewing industry in the markets of Thailand, Myanmar, Mongolia, and Singapore. Currently, he is in charge of the beer segment in the Thai market of ThaiBev PLC Company.

Mr. Tan Teck Chuan Lester also held the position of CEO of companies such as: MCS APB (period 2005 - 2012) and Mongolian Beverages Company (period 2012 - 2014). Both companies specialize in the production of Mongolian beverages.

During the period 2014 - 2017, Mr. Lester worked as CEO at Heineken Myanmar. Since 2017, he has been in charge of the beer segment in the Thai market of ThaiBev PLC Company.

At the 2023 annual general meeting of shareholders, the Sabeco board of directors said that the change in the general director position is part of Sabeco's personnel plan. This is the right time for this business to bring new elements into the leadership team, improve business capabilities, optimize processes and implement fundamental transformation initiatives.

In the new role of general director, Mr. Lester Tan will lead Sabeco's phase 2 transformation, planning development strategies for all business activities and sustainable development. At the same time, strengthen the core strengths of the corporation according to the strategic vision until 2025.
